Three of the four brothers of Zahringen family. ( the fourth was Rudolf the Archibishop of Mainz)
Adalbert I duke of Teck.
Berthold IV duke of Zahringen
Hugh duke of Ullenburg
The heraldry is hypothetical and conjectural , because this family went extinct
with Berthold V ,son of Berthold IV, and so is not reported in the Manex Code.
This family was not very friendly with the Hohenstaufen ( their sister was the wife of Henry the Lion) and was very powerful:
at the battle of Ulrichen in 1211 Berthold V had some 13000 mens.
In an image dating from XV the duke of Teck was depicted with a black and white romboid checkered shield .I painted also the horse so.
The arms of Zahringen was a red eagle on a yellow background and Berthold IV had kept the sovranity on the Burgundy Transgiurana:
on the horse I mixed these two arms.
Hugh was lord of Ortenau and Brusgau and the relative insigna is a black eagle on a background red or perhaps white ,
so I painted the horse red and the shield white.
The insigna on the shields are homemade decalcs except that of standard-bearer of Burgundy that is hand painted.
The figures are Warlord and 1st Corps miniatures with a helm from Mirliton.
